What is the VCS database?

The VCS database is a collection of records of organisations & groups that make up the Third Sector in Essex, Southend & Thurrock. The VCS database provides the public with the means to search these records by the activities provide and where they can be located.

Why do we collect this information?

ESTIC and our partners are commited to making sure that Voluntary & Community Organisations receive the best possible support. The information gathered helps us prove the quality of services provided and identify where the gaps are. This is also a great chance for organisations to publicise their services to the public.

How do I add my own organisation?

By clicking on the Add / Update button on the right hand side. This will take you to an account registration page. After you submit for an account you will be taken to our Database Registration Form. Section 1,2 and 3 of the form are used by the search facilty here on the ESTIC web portal and will need to be completed as accurately as possible so you show up when the relevent searches are carried out. The other information is used for statistical purposes by ESTIC and its partners to help us all achieve our goals and provide the best possible services.

The information held is managed by ESTIC and our partners across Essex, Southend and Thurrock who provide a wide range of support to front line organisations. You can add your organisation yourself to the database, doing this will allow you to update your information as and when you choose.

Data Protection

The information you provide may be used by ESTIC and partners for registration, mapping and case-recording purposes. The contact details you provide us with  will be displayed here on www.estic.org.uk unless you have selected the option to hide this section. Any information shared will be in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
